^trust me, that was like the PG-13 version of that scene in the actual movie.

okay so last night i made the God awful mistake of watching “Evil Dead” and here’s a non-spoiler review:

so going into the movie theater, i was pumped to see this (and of course, cause it was free, that made me even more excited.) because “Carrie” got pushed back to being released this October, the last horror movie i watched in theaters was “The Collection” five months ago so needless to say, i’ve been waiting for a fun movie to watch in theaters and “Evil Dead” is just that (with a side of demonicism!) i’ve seen my fair share of horror films but this definitely sets the bar. i think “Saw” films were just disgusting but this was had a great balance of being disgusting and terrifying at the same damn time. i don’t think i’ve ever been more afraid or uncomfortable in a theater in my life. i jumped and yelped countless times and one time, i even jumped so much that i scratched my face and poked my eye. there were many times i thought about just leaving the theater cause it was too much to handle and there were a few people who actually did. the whole time, i was terrified and ready to go last night because the movie got that real but looking back on it, it was a really great movie and if you enjoy gore or thrills, “Evil Dead” is the perfect movie for you. if not, just watch the music video for Rockstar 101 and you’ll get your healthy dosage of Illuminatic symbols and demonicism. anyways, i can’t wait until “Evil Dead” comes out next week so i can finally talk about it with my friends. and i’d even pay money to watch this again (and that’s saying something cause you know i like free.)

a little bit of advice though: make sure you pray before, after and during the movie cause i swear some of the spirits came through the screen and followed me home. items in my trunk started moving once i left the theater and i never get nightmares but i woke up like five times in the middle of the night last night due to the things i witnessed in the movie and that’s just a FEW of the omens i’ve been seeing all day so yall pray for me and if i don’t post anymore after this, it’s cause the spirits got me!

naturally i’ll be out of state on a business trip…

i know i promised a “wrath of the titans” review but i’ve been realllly busy but anyways, my thoughts while watching the movie real quick without spoiling it:
not sure if this is a hercules rip off or that is an actual mythological creature
“clash of the titans” > “wretch wrath of the titans”
there are better movies to watch liam neeson and ralph fiennes interact in (ie Schindler’s List, Clash of the Titans)
now i know i’m not white, or a girl, or have hair for that matter, but i think if you spend two days of your life walking and battling demonized creatures and evil people, your hair shouldn’t remain curly throughout the entire movie like you just left the beauty shop (especially in the BC years when this takes place)
i know these movies are shitty yet a lot of fun but why do they keep making them
ahh, i know now: they keep making them because people can’t look away (kinda like the “short-lived” saw films)
this is the second sam worthington movie that rips off disney
“hercules” was better
where are the singing black women?
where are the black people in general?
the first one was better
i’ve seen better CGI in films on the SciFi channel
i’ve seen better CGI on Windows Movie Maker
i’ve seen better CGI on Sega Genesis
pretty much, it’s not bad (okay it’s terrible) but it’s still fun to watch. don’t pay to watch it in 3D though if you do pay for it though. but if i didn’t watch it for free, i’d wait to download rent it. if you watch a movie this weekend, rewatch “the hunger games” and support movies that actually have black people in it cause this is kinda laggin…

14+ hours in one movie theater with comic book fanboys = “Lord of the Flies”/”The Hunger Games”/inevitable death.

review time!
last night i got the chance to go to a screening of “This Means War” 3 weeks in advance (and we were the first audience in the world to watch it.) i know i say this about almost every movie i get to watch for free, but i really enjoyed it. i hadn’t watched the trailer before i watched the movie, i just saw the poster so i really didn’t know what it was about but it’s a really clever and hilarious movie (and movies like this really don’t make me laugh.) also, Chelsea Handler makes it 100x funnier. it’s not your typical romantic/action/comedy. it was a lot better than i expected and it’s not as much of a chick flick as i thought it’d be so fellas, you can take your ladies and still enjoy it. so you all should go check it out. …and i’m not just saying that because 20th Century Fox told me to.

EDIT: reese witherspoon was a ho though now that i think about it! but hey, who doesn’t love a good ho?

got to go to a screening of this last night - literally one of the best movies i’ve seen in awhile (and i’m not just saying that because our school made us read the book and the author came to give a speech there.) the movie is so much better than the book (and less confusing) and by the end of the movie, throughout the audience, all you heard was people sniffling and saw them trying to quietly wipe their tears.
hands down, this is the most touching and eye-opening film made about 9/11 and i wouldn’t be suprised if it becomes big during award season. you guys should check it out when it’s released nationwide next friday. trust me, i wouldn’t tell you to waste your money. it’s an incredible film.

just left a showing of “The Devil Inside.” ehhh. it’s alright. fun to watch in theaters or with friends (or with black people) but not by yourself at home.

Paranormal Activity 3 >

it’s still fun though.

finished re-reading the book yesterday and just left a screening of this movie a little while ago.not going to giving a detailed review but it’s an amazing film. definitely worth the eight month wait i’ve been counting down.

got the chance to go to an advanced screening and decided if there was ever a movie about my life, this would be it. i’ve never seen a movie that potentially mirrors my life so perfectly.

if “scream 4” didn’t come out this year, this would be my favorite movie of the year.
